Accurist have a long and varied history going all the way back to 1947 when Asher and Rebecca Loftus founded the company. The company was founded with the aim of building a brand name around lasting value. Accurist is known as one of the first manufacturers to introduce fashion into the watch industry with famous people like The Beatles and Princess Anne wearing the watch. The company grew throughout the 1980's and became the first company to sponsor the BT Speaking Clock in 1986. The famous greeting "At the third stroke, the time sponsored by Accurist will be..." appeared on the speaking clock for over two decades, the sponsorship finally ceasing in 2008. Today Accurist are an incredibly respected name worldwide for their functional and stylish watch range.
