Brand History

Skagen was founded by Henrik and Charlotte Jorst in 1989. Originally the couple moved to the US because of Henrik’s job. Additionally, the Jorsts decided to become representatives for a Danish corporate gift watch manufacturer. In 1991 they found a way of manufacturing the watches at a cheaper price and began designing their own timepieces. They displayed these watches at a corporate gift fair in and were encouraged to start their oen brand. This became the start of Skagen Denmark. The company grew quickly expanding to the UK and throughout Europe by the 2000s.

Design Inspiration

Skagen watches and jewellery are inspired by Denmarks ideals of simplicity, purpose and honesty. Skagen pieces come in a range of designs and often incorporate expensive materials into their designs.
